I have been eating better and working out at the gym for almost 2 weeks now. How long will it take 2 C change?

I am trying to lose about 40 lbs and recently joined a gym and have been eating better. How long will it take to see results? What should my workout regimen be? Cardio three days a week, weights three days a week? I have started weights and dont some cardio. My focus areas are my belly and my legs and thighs. I am a beginner and new to this. Any help or advise will be appreciated. Thanks!
