2002 laguna knocking noise?

hello following my previous thread a few days ago ..i have a knocking noise coming from the penger side fron on my 2002 laguna dynamique 1.8 petrol i checked all the obvious drop links bottom arms etc they are relatively new as they were only fitted 4 months ago so jacked car up today and grabbed the front penger wheel and theres play in it i can move it from side to side but no play when try up and down the knocking noise is more noticeable when braking and on bumpy roads etc checked caliper thats ok ..is it the wheel bearing etc?....also checked engine and gearbox mounts they are all ok
