My husband and i want to seperate i need to know my housing rights?

My husband and I have been unhappily married for the last 10years our children are grown up now and we would like to seperate.We are council tenants and my husband is the main name on tenancy agreement I am down as living at the property along with the kids my husband is willing to change that so I become the main tenant and he is willing to be the one the council rehouses.I am really worried about this as I'm not sure that u can then put the property in the childrens name in the future.Would appreciate any advice from people who have been through this situation.please help.My son is 15years old and is severly autistic.And daughter 19years old living at home but attends uni.
