Need help with thesis statement?

I am doing my proj on jefferson davis. Thesis statement ----> jefferson davis hindered efforts to achieve broad unity among the Southern states because of his fiery temper and self-righteousness. Tht was it ! Idont really know too much of what im doing. So, if i did it wrong could you pls help me out? Thanks, ps this is an 8th grade project.
