How do I subtly tell him I want to see him again, without being pushy/desperate...a bit of distace between us?

" listen, i found ur(anything he owns) in my house and maybe u would like to come and get it. Oh, since you're here and maybe we should hang out! Hmmm, what does friends do when they visit?" stuff like thatm give an exuse for him to come than ask him wat does friends normally do to point out that u two r only hanging out as friends.
